Hey gang, it is that time of the year again. The Sandcastle household is hosting another January bash for the third year. Except this year, we are really stepping it up. It seems the older we get, the crazier we become.

The reason you are reading this is simply because you are either a close friend or you are invited by someone that we know. Either way, welcome to our Sandcastle. Over the years we have been hosting exclusive house parties, including Pajama parties and Pimp-n-Ho parties, to get away from your average club night with crappy music and uncomfortable environment. Needless to say that the pod is growing and we are very fortunate to know all of you.

This year we are celebrating several birthdays: See the January Birthday Page. Please let us know if your birthday is in January. Because of the magnitude of our pod and also getting tired of neighbors calling the cops, we rented out Cane’s in Mission Beach entirely to ourselves on the night of January 8th. We had Mikey and Diana’s Anniversary party there. The venue was great with the terrace overlooking the beach including a big ass stage and dance floor. They took real good care of us and the sound system was bitchin', so we are going back there.

This year the theme of the party is Tarzan and Jane. So come out and play in the Jungle. This event is always a treat after all the holiday headaches and traveling is over. Usually we don’t get to hang out with everyone since holidays take people away.

We have an amazing event this year. There are many talented musicians preparing for this night, including guitarists, drummers, conga players and bassists. But to make it even more exciting, we are flying in Valerie the Vibe Tribe Goddess plus DJ sWiTcH. In addition, so we hired Urban Tribal Dance Squad to entertain us in between DJ sessions. But, we still wanted more, so we are brewing up a special set by DJ Blue and special guests on live guitar and two drum sets. DJ Hawk also will be taking us deep into his eclectic set of Tribal/Deep house.

If you have seen Valerie perform before, well there is nothing I can say that would do her justice. For those who have not seen her perform, you are really in for a treat. She is the most talented artist, musician and dancer that I have seen behind a turntable set. Her vibrant energy will take you somewhere else and her soulful riveting house tunes will keep you dancing till dawn. Be sure to visit her website and check out her video clips to get a glimpse of what January 8th is going to be like. She has not performed in San Diego in a year, so do not miss out on this rare event.

We have four areas in the Jungle to play in. DJ Hawk, DJ Blue, DJ sWiTcH and Valerie will be in the main Jungle, our resident DJ Trey will be performing eclectic tunes in the Garden of Eden, while we have special musical guests playing down tempo chill music in Cheetah’s lounge.

One last thing, we have no idea what the turnout is going to be and the space is limited. So please RSVP. This event is BY INVITE ONLY and you need to be on the list to get in. So please, please, please RSVP. Plus, by buying your ticket on our website, you save $5. Tickets are $10 on our site and if you choose to wait, it will be $15 at the door (Cane’s regulation).

Due to current event over at South East Asia, we will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the American Red Cross Disaster Response Fund. Come out have some fun and support this cause.
